Our Team

Our Team’s Field Experience

SuperFrens is new, but our team isn’t. Before founding SuperFrens, our members worked on recovery missions in the field. These numbers reflect their prior field experience.

30+Missions

Recovery missions our founders worked in the field before SuperFrens.

75+Recoveries

Service members our team helped recover in prior fieldwork.

The Process

How It Works

Researchers reviewing personnel records

01

Research

Every recovery begins with the record. Case files, Missing Air Crew Reports, unit histories, maps, and family leads are reviewed to reconstruct where a service member was last known.

We cross-check dates, coordinates, and witness statements so field teams aren’t guessing — a defensible loss-site picture before anyone digs.

  • Identify and prioritize likely loss locations
  • Build a site history that guides survey and excavation
  • Give DPAA and partners a clearer path from paper to ground truth

02

Recover

Recovery is archaeology applied to the nation’s accounting mission: systematic survey, controlled excavation, screening, and careful documentation.

Fieldwork is slow on purpose. Where a fragment is found can matter as much as the object itself when forensic scientists compare evidence to the historical record.

  • Survey and excavate with archaeological controls
  • Recover remains and material with full documentation
  • Preserve context so identification has the best chance

03

Return

Return is the promise kept. Evidence moves through identification pathways led by DPAA and partner laboratories — our role is respectful recovery and clean documentation.

When an identification is made, a family gets an answer and a loved one comes home with honor. For families who have waited decades, that moment is not a statistic.

  • Support identification with rigorous field evidence
  • Honor the transfer and repatriation process
  • Help bring the missing home to their families

“Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid.”
